About Elizabeth

I’m a depth-oriented therapist. My approach weaves together psychoanalytic perspectives to uncover deep-rooted patterns, and transpersonal approaches that place these patterns within your wider journey of change.

My work is grounded in embodied and contemplative ways of knowing, shaped by more than 20 years of yoga and dance meditation, and by Buddhist perspectives that emphasise presence, compassion, and inner transformation.

Where appropriate, I’m happy to integrate psychological type and feeding your demons to support insight, clarity, and transformation.

I’m a registered member of the BACP, and I engage in ongoing training, supervision, and personal therapy to support ethical, evolving practice.

I offer counselling and therapy online, welcoming clients based in England, Ireland, and internationally, where appropriate.

Who I work with

I work with adults and young people, and offer a warm, collaborative, and reflective space. People often come to me when an old way of being no longer fits, but the new way hasn’t yet arrived. Some people come with a specific issue such as depression, stress or anxiety or life changes; others come with feelings of being stuck, uneasy, or with a sense of longing. I bring both my professional and lived experience of these landscapes. Whether you’re looking for a space to explore something tender or to reorient from something difficult, we can go gently and at your pace.

🧠 NeurodiversityI welcome people who have been diagnosed, identify as or suspect they may be neurodivergent (for example, autistic, ADHD, or dyslexic). Neurodivergence is part of natural human variation, not something to fix. I offer my expertise and skills as we work together at your pace to explore issues nuanced to the Neurodivergent community safely, as they arise.

🌈 Gender, Sexuality & Relationship DiversityI welcome clients who are queer, trans, non-binary, questioning, and/or exploring their identity. I also work with those in non-traditional or non-monogamous relationships. I’m skilled at holding space for conversations about sex, desire, intimacy, and identity that are safe, reflective, and curious, particularly where these may be shaped by shame, silence, or past harm.

🧘 Faith & Spiritual Practice & CommunitiesI welcome conversations about faith, spiritual practice, and meaning-making. Like any journey of transformation, these paths can carry both light and shadow, offering moments of deep healing as well as challenge. This is a space to explore your experiences with gentleness and compassion.

🌍 Identity, Migration & DecolonisationAs an immigrant and someone who grew up between cultures, I understand some of the complexities that come with questions of belonging, identity, and home. Whether you feel like an outsider in dominant culture, institutions, or your own family, you are welcome here, in all your complexity.

♿ Chronic Illness & DisabilityI offer space for clients living with chronic health conditions, pain, fatigue, and disability. I offer a non-judgmental, flexible & supportive space that honours your capacity and needs.

Wherever You’re Coming From

You are welcome

About Imaginal

The word imaginal speaks to the inner world,
the place of images, symbols, and our felt sense,
where patterns emerge
and where change begins.
It’s also inspired by imaginal cells.Hidden inside every caterpillar are tiny cells,
that carry the genetic blueprint for the butterfly.
During metamorphosis, it’s these cells
that quietly guide the transformation.
Therapy can be like that.
A space for something new to take shape.
When you’re no longer quite who you were,
but not yet who you’re becoming.
A place safe enough to soften,
and see what might emerge.

Influences

These are some of the books and writings that shape how I think and work. They’re voices and perspectives I return to for inspiration, grounding, and challenge. Some may feel familiar, others less so — together they form part of the influences that support my practice.Where possible links go to Bookshop.org — an ethical alternative that supports independent bookshops. I may receive a small affiliate commission.

Psychological Type

Psychological Type offers a way of understanding the natural patterns in how we perceive, relate, decide, and engage with the world. Grounded in Jungian psychology and developed through tools like the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI), it helps illuminate both our strengths and areas for development — not to label or limit us, but to invite deeper self-awareness and integration.Exploring type can help us make sense of inner tension, relationship dynamics, and life transitions.Where appropriate, I integrate psychological type into therapeutic work as a way of fostering self-understanding, self-compassion, and the unfolding of new possibilities. Please let me know if this is something that you are interested in.

Feeding Your Demons

“With a loving mind, cherish more than a child
The hostile gods and demons of apparent existence,
And tenderly surround yourself with them”
— Machig Labdrön (1055 – 1145)

Feeding Your Demons is a guided process for working with the parts of ourselves that feel stuck, overwhelming, or in conflict. Rooted in Tibetan Buddhist wisdom and adapted for modern life by Lama Tsultrim Allione, the practice invites you to meet these demons not with fear or force, but with curiosity, compassion, and care.Rather than trying to get rid of difficult feelings, thoughts, or behaviours, the process encourages dialogue, helping you uncover not just what these parts want but also what they need and how they may be transformed. It can be a powerful support for healing and self-understanding.You can find out more about Feeding Your Demons from the Tara Mandala website. There are several ways to explore this work, and you’re welcome to find the pace and setting that feels right for you.

Open Sessions

I also run a monthly donation-based (pay what you can) online Feeding Your Demons session through Tara Mandala, which you are very welcome to join.

Closed Groups

Please contact me if you are interested in joining a weekly Feeding Your Demons Closed Group.

The group will dive deeply into the process, use art and other modalities and spend time working with allies.

We will work together online for a block of 6 weeks at a time.

Individual, Relational & Group Work

Some people prefer to explore the work privately at first, before bringing it into a group setting. I offer individual Feeding Your Demons work within my one-to-one therapy practice. This can be a gentle way to work at your own pace, with more time and individual support and reflection.

Alongside individual sessions, I also work with:

  • Couples
  • Groups & organisations

If you’d like to explore what might be most supportive, you’re very welcome to get in touch.

The Way That I Work

I work in a depth-oriented, relational way, paying attention to patterns, meaning, and lived experience. Therapy is collaborative and paced with care, and we will regularly review how the work is feeling and whether it continues to meet your needs.

My approach is trauma-informed and neurodivergence-affirming. I aim to offer a respectful space in which thoughts, emotions, bodily experience, and reflection can be explored. I welcome conversations about access needs or communication preferences that may help our work feel more supportive.

Sessions usually last 50 minutes and are typically held weekly, although this can be reviewed by agreement. Sessions take place online via Zoom.
Therapy takes place primarily within sessions. Email is used for practical or administrative matters such as scheduling and should not be used for urgent or crisis support.

Online Sessions

Please attend sessions from a private and reasonably uninterrupted space.

If the connection drops, I will attempt to reconnect using the same link. If this is not possible, we may continue by telephone or reschedule.

Sessions are not recorded unless explicitly agreed by both parties.

Payment is due within 7 days of the session.

A limited number of reduced-fee places may be available by agreement.

Cancellations

I ask for 48 hours’ notice if you need to cancel but will try to reschedule wherever possible.Sessions cancelled with less than 48 hours’ notice, or missed sessions, are normally charged at the full fee.If you arrive late, the session will still end at the usual time.

First Session
In our first session, we usually talk about what has brought you to counselling and how things are in your life at the moment. We may also touch on some aspects of your background and general wellbeing so that I can begin to understand your situation more fully.

Along the way we may begin to notice patterns, feelings, or experiences that seem important to you, and allow space for these to be explored with care.

We will work at a pace that feels comfortable for you, and you do not need to speak about anything before you are ready.

You are also welcome to bring any questions you might have about therapy or about how I work.

You do not need to prepare anything in advance
— simply coming as you are is enough.
